GolfCzech.com | Golf news | Cabrera Bello has the field in check
8/23/2008
After a round of 65 at the Ypsilon Golf Challenge by Alex Cejka moved him to within two shots of the lead held by Rafael Cabrera Bello of Spain, England’s Seve Benson has targeted both his second Challenge Tour title and the Number One Spot in the Rankings.
But the man standing in his way is in sizzling form. Cabrera Bello, who finished tied 11th at last week’s Trophée du Golf Club de Genève, posted seven birdies in a round of 65 at Ypsilon Golf Resort in Liberec, the Czech Republic, to move to 17 under par.
After another flawless round – he has dropped just one shot in three days at Ypsilon Golf Resort in Liberec, the Czech Republic – Benson is on 15 under par.
With current Number One David Horsey five shots back in a tie for tenth, there is an added incentive for the 21 year old had to add to his one Challenge Tour victory.
One shot behind Benson in a tie for third are England’s Richard Bland and Northern Ireland’s Gareth Maybin, who both carded rounds of 67.
Maybin again kept the bogeys off his card for the third day in succession – but a double bogey at the tenth hole briefly checked his charge.
