Sorenstam takes the lead at Stanford International Pro-Am

LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame member Annika Sorenstam (68-67-70=205, -7) carded a 1-under-par 70 in Saturday's third round of the Stanford International Pro-Am to climb atop the leaderboard

The 70-time Tour winner holds a one-stroke lead over five-time Tour winner Paula Creamer (68-71-67=206, -6), who moved into sole possession of second place after firing a bogey-free, 4-under 67 at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club.

Sorenstam's scorecard was relatively quiet compared to her first two rounds that included nine birdies and three bogeys.

She found birdie opportunities on the second and 17th holes of the par-71, 6,244-yard Soffer Course, and her lone blemish of the round was on the par-3 15th hole, where she two putted from seven feet. Creamer, who shares the low third-round score of 4-under 67 with Cristie Kerr (69-72-67=208, -4), was one of just two players to record a bogey-free round at the Stanford International Pro-Am through three rounds. Creamer shares that distinction with third-year Tour member Brittany Lang (71-64-69=214, +2).

Young Kim (67-67-73=207, -5) and 2008 LPGA Tour rookie Momoko Ueda (68-72-67=207) round out the leaderboard's top three positions.
